Potatoes in pan with Thyme and Garlic

Moist and easy potatoes in pan and without using an oven! They are seasoned with thyme and garlic to underline their French character.

To Start...

Ingredients

  • 1 big potato or 3 small ones
  • 1 teaspoon of thyme
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • ½ of a big garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • 50ml of water (at least)
  • Fleur de sel, Kampot black pepper

Steps

  • Peel and cut the potato in small dices
  • Press or finely slice the garlic
  • Heat a small pan
  • Add the olive oil
  • Stir the garlic and the bay leaf
  • Add the potato dices
  • Stir with a wooden spoon to cover them with olive oil
  • Season with salt, pepper and thyme
  • Stir with the wooden spoon
  • Add the cold water and stir
  • Cover with a lid and cook in mild heat for about 10’-15’
  • Check now and then to see if there is a need to add some water

Tip

This is an easy and rapid side dish for every kind of meat or fish that was cooked with thyme, oregano, or sage.
