This type of classification helps to present recipes with another point of view and in an alternative manner. One thing is sure, there are many Greek recipes in this blog but there are also a lot of vegetable recipes, so I thought that a category for vegetarian and vegan (very trendy and for courageous people!) food might make sense. I also decided to include recipes coming from other cultures so I created an additional category for “Food for Around the World” :-) So enjoy :-)
Cinnamon splash!
This is a very interesting breakfast or a fast treat for tea and it’s a different type of pancake which resembles to a crêpe and it’s filling is made with dried raisin, walnuts, cinnamon and honey (or coconut syrup for the vegan version). It’s really good and easy to make!
Cretan Kaltsounia
These little Cretan biscuits come with a filling made with cream cheese and cinnamon! The crust is made with flour and olive oil and it’s really good! They are so cute!
Tas Kebap – Beef stew with tomato sauce and spices
This beef stew is moist and perfectly perfumed with spices such as cinnamon and allspice! Spices give a very special character to this beef and surely worth the time to make because it’s really good!
Shrimps “saganaki” with feta cheese and tomato sauce in the oven
This Greek dish with a Japanese name is really good and original! The shrimps are cooked into a tomato sauce with fresh tomatoes, green peppers, onion and garlic and then feta cheese is added and it’s cooked in the oven! It’s very tasteful and really worth the effort making it!
Airy chocolate cake (without flour) and with "nutella" whipped cream
This chocolate dessert without any flour is really good and airy thanks to its eggs that we beat in soft peaks and add to the rest of the ingredients! It has a strong taste of chocolate and the Nutella Chantilly gives it an interesting twist that makes it really interesting!
Caponata
Caponata is a classic Italian dish that is based on eggplants and that is really good! In this version it has eggplant, celery, onion, garlic, capers, green olives, dried raisins, pine nuts, white wine vinegar and tomato puree! There are a lot of ingredients but the result is so good that it worth the effort! Don’t miss it!
